The water source of the project is the Alakır Dam, which is located on the Alakır Stream and has been in operation since 1973.
The water to be taken from the Tocak HEPP tailwater located at the downstream of the Alakır Dam will be conveyed to the existing tunnel and after the tunnel, it will reach to the irrigation areas A0 and A0P which have total gross area of 1467.40 ha will be irrigated by gravity and 477.50 ha will be irrigated by pump respectively. With a branch to A0 main line, the water will be transmitted to Alakır HEPP.
With the water to be taken from Alakır HEPP tailwater, A2 irrigation areas with a total gross area of 3328 ha will be irrigated by gravity and A2P irrigation area with a gross area of 230 ha will be irrigated by pump.
There will be 2 pump stations for pressurazation of the irrigation network.
In addition, a reservoir will be designed after the Tocak HEPP tailwater. Total gross 3534.40 ha T1 irrigation area will be irrigated through this reservoir.
Thus, a total of 9037 ha area will be irrigated.
