The project is for irrigation and drinking water requirements. In the scope of the project with the Sipahi Dam through the use of the waters of the River Küre, the city of Mersin where it is in the area of downstream of the dam; Akdere, Işıklı, Yeşilovacık and Gülnar in Silifke township, Büyükeceli town area in Gülnar township will be irrigated and provides drinking water for Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant which is in approximately 2 km in the south of the Büyükeceli town. It is water storage, water treatment planning project, it provides drinking water through Büyükeceli tunnel exit to the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.
